It looks like 2 lenox or 2 high end porcelain deer which you could find at any high end china outlet during Christmas. The sleight is custom made to hold the cake. If you purchased the fancy deer, I am sure the cake maker will be able to find or make the base.
My baker had tons of different bases and things they would custom make for you.... like you said it%26#039;s all $$$$$

I was wandering if there is a study guide to take the floral design test for Louisiana.?
I currently work in a Flower Shop and I have heard you can take the test to be a designer without going to school for it. I am just curious if there is a study guide for the Louisiana area.

I have a losol ware vase about 10 in high cream with floral decor and gold on rim and handle?
The vase is in perfect condition apart from the gold being slightly faded the flowers are ..one large yellow one some smaller orange and yellow ones and some purple ones with darkish green leaves black underneath top of pattern it has the losol ware, keeling pottery mark on the bottom. Can anyone tel me how old it might be and if it is worth anything? i have searched the internet endlessly but cannot find anything like it.

It turned out awful, everything went wrong from my hair being horrid, to my make up being a rushed 5 minute bathroom job to my dress almost falling off to the floral shop not delivering the flowers and having no wedding flowers, to the pastor accidentally skipping part of the service and making the whole ceremony a total of 12 minutes from start to finish (best man timed it), to mics not working, to our original wedding site getting snowed out (in May!) three days before the wedding and having to move the wedding to a too small church (%26amp; having to notify all 300 plus guests of the change) to our cake nearly falling over, , and we weren%26#039;t able to go on a honeymoon either.... what would you have changed about your wedding?

there is this woman i work with who technically still has a boy friend but they are having thier problems and she has said that she wants to move on. she has shown a little interst in me. this is a woman im highly interetsedted in. sooo i went to the floral shop and arranged for flowers to be sent to work on thursday during her shift. just to get her attention.

What is the best way to paint on plexiglass?
I am painting an outdoor sign on plexiglass and was wondering if anyone knew what the best way of painting it would be, It needs to be weather resistent, would acrylic paint work o.k. if it was covered with a polyurethane. And what would give the best look in the end. The sign is for a floral shop. Thank You!

Usually, plexiglass signs are not painted. It%26#039;s usually done with laminates which are adhered to the plexi.
I%26#039;m guessing that this sign is going to be back lighted...otherwise there%26#039;s no need to use plexi in the first place. If that%26#039;s the case, I would suggest painting your image on the back side of the plexi in reverse so that whatever you use (definitely not water based acrylic) will be protected from the elements.
If it%26#039;s a fairly simple image, I would recommend masking off the image and using a plastic adhering spray paint.... like Krylon Plastic spray. If it%26#039;s a complex image with many colours and details, would say visit a model makers shop. They usually have a good variety of paint that is meant for plastic surfaces.
Ultimately I%26#039;d have to say, don%26#039;t paint plexi. Create your image with good quality heavy vinyl...and if you need to add detail, paint the vinyl with model maker%26#039;s paint.

I bought a large ficus from a floral shop and by the end of the weekend it was dead. I looked in the soil and there were all these small white-ish worm looking things but they have legs? I just bought an Aloe Plant and Have a question.?
I work at a hotel. And this girl who works here brought one in before I even started working there. And I love the plant. I occasionally break it and put it on my face. It%26#039;s nice, and skinny and beautiful. But Then I wanted to get one for myself, and I went to the nearest floral shop and ordered two of them. But They%26#039;re uglier in my opinion and also they%26#039;re not as Bright Green as the one at work. They are also bigger and have way more juice inside them. But when I broke it open I noticed this disgusting smell. It was absolutely horrible. The one at work has no scent and the one I bought is disgusting. What%26#039;s wrong, what does it need. I just got it today and I%26#039;m clueless.

There are a few hundred different types of aloe and some of them, especially those used as home pot plants are quite similar in appearance, but as you have found out are different when you smell or break them. I doubt it is anything to do with the way you or the shop looked after the plant. Now here comes the hard part, there is not much you can do to change the plant so you have a hard decision to make :-( When you buy another make sure that the shop can definitely reassure you that it is %26#039;aloe vera%26#039;. This is the commonest and probably the species that your friend has. It should look like the picture in the link below.

Suddenly I didn%26#039;t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn%26#039;t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man!
That night, we didn%26#039;t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer, she had lost my heart to Dew. I did%26#039;nt love her anymore..I just pitied her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. If only life could be that simple. Unfortunately I hear of too many people in an abusive situation where they dont just not carry their wives, they beat them into submission.....that kind of marriage should not be saved. But I agree, if there was love to begin with, then it can be salvaged and divorce should not embarked upon unless all other avenues have been exhausted.

If only life could be that simple. Unfortunately I hear of too many people in an abusive situation where they dont just not carry their wives, they beat them into submission.....that kind of marriage should not be saved. But I agree, if there was love to begin with, then it can be salvaged and divorce should not embarked upon unless all other avenues have been exhausted.

I have been working in a floral shop for almost one year. I will soon get a promotion to be the manage of our department.
since I work very hard and I can make very nice arrangement.the most important thing is that I%26#039;m very good at dealing with our customers. I always serve the customers patiently and concern of what they need very much. recently I just got a reward of my good service.
but we just got a new girl who is a Asian too like me.she can do the same good service just like me. of course, so far, I can do better arrangement than her. but it%26#039;s not very hard to learn if a person who love this kind of job.

If you are worried about her working harder than you though, then you have to be willing to work harder yourself. If you have good employers, they aren%26#039;t going to drop you as long as you pull your weight. She may have a better accent than you, but if you do a better job you aren%26#039;t going to get fired. If you see that she does very good work, then you are going to need to push yourself to do just as well or better. This might be tough, but that%26#039;s the way the working world is.

What advice can you give decorating the night before at a wedding reception using fresh flowers?
I am wanting to decorate the night before using fresh red roses in vases. If we do this, how will the flowers look the next day at 530 pm? They wont be too wilted already would they already? The reason why we want to do this, is if we buy our roses fresh from a wholesaler we save sooo much money then buying arrangements at a local floral shop.
Also, can anyone recomend any wholesaler websites for flowers?

One question....when and where is the reception? If it is in the summer...you will want to make sure that the hall is air conditioned WHEN you set up....not the next day. They will be fine if they are in an air-conditioned room all night. OR, on the flip side....is it a winter wedding? Again, you don%26#039;t want the hall TOO HOT for the whole night. Make sure the heat is turned way down. So...if the temperature in the room is OK for the whole night, you should be fine. Ours were lovely!
Here is the wholesaler we used. They were excellent and there are many choices of EACH color! The flowers arrived right on time and there were no problems!

We had a Saturday wedding, so the roses arrived on Thursday. On Friday, my sister and I did them up. One warning.....it takes a lot of work to unwrap, cut the stems, put them in water filled with rose preservative, etc., so allow lots of time to do this. Again, I have an air conditioned house...so it worked out good...they were in the basement (very cool) overnight. You CAN%26#039;T use standard refrigerators. (They will tell you that). Florist refrigerators are different. But, in the end, IT%26#039;S WORTH IT because you will have saved TONS of money.

I%26#039;m not a florist, but from my experience these flowers last forever. The key is to get REALLY fresh flowers, I%26#039;m not sure where your getting your flowers but I told my florist to make sure their fresh. Can the wholesale people help with that? Or try a supermarket, that%26#039;s where i bought the roses and the girl helped me with coordinating.
I did the arrangement the day before both parties, and both were refrigerated the night before. I do think they%26#039;ll be okay because my flowers lasted weeks after the event!!!! We gave them to guests and the said they were really strong and healthy. Out of the 2 arrangements (mini calla lillies and cymbidium orchids lasted longer) 3 weeks after the wedding

We are a real brick and mortar store. Most internet florist are nothing more than order takers. They take 30% off the total and call the order to a brick and mortar shop. i used to work in a floral shop. i say since he is already gonna be wearing an ornamental uniform dont get too crazy with the boutonniere. i say u get the basic white single rose with baby%26#039;s breath (which is that white poofy filler.) if u want to step it up a bit, try 3 sweetheart roses in white with some caspia (which is a purple filler) or if u dont like purple try it with solidago (which is a yellow filler.) and u can go to the flower shops and ask the sales associate for advice and previews. and what ever u do, dont use any ribbons with it! hoped that helped u!

I received a check for over US$2000 from an overseas %26quot;lottery%26quot; written on a check from a company that doesn%26#039;t seem to have anything to do with the lottery (a group of floral shops in the SE). I want to contact the USPS, and am wondering exactly what I may need to do.

Help! ,me im confused!?
this is not a joke!lately whenever i hear the word %26#039;gardenia%26quot; or am around the flower ,i get abnormally aroused. i have always been interested in plants and forestry, but this is ruining my relationships. sometimes i find myself going into floral shops just to catch a whiff. if no one is around i will even dare a quick caress. i cant even get intimate with my boyfriend unless gardenias are in the picture. i use to work at an airport gift shop, but i got fired for being %26quot; inappropriate%26quot; with some of the arrangements whatever that means. they called me a freak:( my questtion is , since i cant get over this, should i just give into my desires and be open with my new found romantic love? please dont report me! no one will help !

Los Angeles Flower District - How to order?
I heard people getting bulks of flower at the LA Flower District for cheap. I was there two weeks ago and bought some flowers to practice making bouquets for my Wedding November 08. I love the results and plan to do all the floral arrangements and bouquet for my wedding.
How do I come about ordering batches of flowers from the LA Flower District? Do I just go in the day before and grab what ever flower I want or should I meet with certain floral shops in the facility to order in advance.
Please provide answers, thanks.

Reply:Just go into the Flower Market during public hours. Public hours are 6 am to noon Tuesday, thursday, Saturday or 8am to noon M,W,F. You%26#039;ll have to pay the entrance fee (a whooping $1 on Saturdays or $2 any other day) and they%26#039;ll stamp your hand and give you a sticker to wear to show that you paid.
Then you just wander around a purchase between the 2 warehouse buildings.
Two (okay 3) words of warning though:
-Shop around for prices before handing over money.
-Most places only take cash, so you need to have it on you, or there are ATMs
-Go early! Some places pack up around 9 or 9:30 so it is to your benefit to roll out of bed and put on your lazy day clothes to get down there.
