Business Ethics: Issue concerning loyalty or professionalism?

You are the owner of a local floral shop. You notice that one of your regular customers has been sending flowers with romantic notes attached to several women in the community. You don’t think too much of it until one time the flowers that he buys are to be sent to a good friend of yours. When your friend gets the flowers, she is very excited. She asks you what your opinion is of this fellow. How would you respond?

Be loyal to your friend but say it in a diplomatic way so as not to hurt your customer. Such as, %26quot;He is such an admirer of beautiful women.%26quot; (PLURAL) %26quot;He brightens so many ladies%26#039; days! How thoughtful!%26quot; That way you aren%26#039;t speaking ill of him but you are letting your good friend know he is a player! She%26#039;ll appreciate it and he%26#039;ll never know the difference.
