How do you report what may be mail fraud?

I received a check for over US$2000 from an overseas %26quot;lottery%26quot; written on a check from a company that doesn%26#039;t seem to have anything to do with the lottery (a group of floral shops in the SE). I want to contact the USPS, and am wondering exactly what I may need to do.

How do you report what may be mail fraud?
Bring it to your bank and tell them you think it is fraud. My bank has a sign up from the FBI that says that is what you should do, and then the bank handles it.

Obviously, do not cash it because then you can get in huge trouble.
Reply:Did you look up the group of floral shops in the SE? I dont know what SE means UK? ,... you can... Take check to bank and have them check the validity of the check. Then,.. contact both yours and writers local authorities. they have gov agency that works with ours.

2. your state Attny. Generals office- online forms%26amp; inf

3. FBI%26#039;s fraud site IC3 - online info %26amp; forms

Usually if looks %26amp; seems kinda funnyweird,... it is! Report it! Better to try to help keep internet safe for all, than let someone get hurt .Not everyone can see funny buiness til they are shown. But should not have to suffer or be destroyed by it.

So,if in doubt,it wont hurt to have it checked out.! M fav site...

Reply:When you try to cash it, they will get your bank account info and drain your funds. The check is a scam.
Reply:Report it to the Federal Trade Commission. They have a fraud line at their web site. These scam are ongoing.
Reply:If you suspect mail fraud go to your post office and talk to the post master. He/she will tell you if what you have described is mail fraud and if it is he will contact a postal investigator and that person will launch an investigation into the matter.
